rewind #3
. . . METHOD is mostly turning into a food blog, which wasn't intentional. I'm just finding that I cook and bake far more than I do anything else. Probably because I need food to survive, both mentally and physically. But also probably because I enjoy the process of creating food the most. Recipes are such a great commodity to share -- especially as we approach holiday season. In fact, I've noticed that the vast majority of you are reading this blog solely for the recipes. I think it's great.
So, for you food addicts -- don't forget: October is VeganMoFo. I'm a dork and have already planned many posts. It's the writer in me. Always planning. Always organizing. Always outlining. Sneak Peek? Homemade seitan (my husband's secret recipe). Avocado and banana salad (which I created accidentally at lunch yesterday). Dark chocolate-coconut cake with mint/lime icing (an all-me recipe I'm still creating).
And that's just three of the some 20 scrumptious bits to come.
Anyway, I'm learning to crochet this weekend from my friend Kevin. Well, that's if we don't get caught up in an Apples-to-Apples tournament. So, I hope to start my blanket project soon. I bought the following colors or yarn to match our bedroom decor. (Yellow. Purple. Grey. Seems like an odd combination, but it goes well all mixed in together.)
Just one more random thing before the rewind (which is below, if you'd like to skip over my rambling musings). I bought a kitchen scale at Target last night! It's pink and digital. I can't wait to start cooking this way (why?). And I just happened to buy it for someone as part of her wedding gift. So, Lindsey -- if you're reading this post right now, SHAME on you. You have a (rather beautiful) dress to squeeze into, hair to poof, and lips to prep for your big kiss.
I have since figured out how to calibrate it. This apple was absolutely mortified at its hefty weight and didn't want me to share this photo.
